An association promoting the advancement of veterinary knowledge and skill in the field of zoo and wild animals. Provides a European body for international co-ordination and exchange of information.

World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA)

Provides leadership and support for world zoos, aquariums and partner organizations in animal care and welfare, conservation, environmental education and global sustainability.

American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA)

The AVMA represents veterinarians who work in all aspects of the veterinary field, including private and corporate practice, government, industry, academia, and uniformed services.

International Marine Animal Trainers' Association (IMATA)

IMATA is an organization dedicated to advancing marine animal care and handling. The organization serves as a tool for marine mammal trainers to exchange information through publications, conferences, and online discussions.

Zoo Conservation Outreach Group (ZCOG)

Alliance of Marine Mammal Parks and Aquariums (AMMPA)

Universities Federation for Animal Welfare (UFAW)

Scientific and technical animal welfare organization working to improve the welfare of animals kept as pets, in zoos, laboratories, and on farms and of wild animals with which we interact. UFAW funds research, holds symposia, and produces publications on animal welfare.

International Association of Avian Trainers and Educators (IAATE)

The IAATE is an organization of professional bird trainers and handlers. The web site provides information about upcoming events and serves as a communication tool for members.

Association of Primate Veterinarians (APV)

Members are veterinarians working with nonhuman primates in zoos and research settings as well as breeders. The Publications page of the web site contains a link to the Primate Formulary (Excel Worksheet|175 KB), compiled by D. Rick Lee and C.J. Doane, in Microsoft Excel format.
